The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) leads and supports university-wide initiatives focused on recruiting a diverse faculty, staff and student body, while fostering an inclusive and equitable community at the University of Michigan. ODEI also engages surrounding communities in mission-focused, mutually beneficial partnerships. The vision of the office is to envision a diverse University where all thrive and excel.

Center for Educational Outreach

As the University’s K-12 Outreach Hub, CEO leads a coordinated, university-level strategy to significantly increase the capacity and effectiveness of U-M faculty, campus outreach professionals, and student groups through fostering communities of practice, building capacity and consulting, developing infrastructure to support outreach, and delivering direct service to K-12 communities.
OAMI

Office of Academic Multicultural Initiatives

The Office of Academic Multicultural Initiatives (OAMI) is dedicated to supporting the University of Michigan in its ongoing commitment to create and foster an intellectually and culturally diverse campus community. To this end, OAMI works collaboratively and cooperatively with the campus and external constituencies to develop initiatives that enrich the academic, social, cultural, and personal development of students. The primary commitment of OAMI is to serve students, through a variety of programs, research, and strategic planning activities.

Wolverine Pathways

Wolverine Pathways is a free college and career readiness program that supports highly motivated scholars from under-resourced communities. In an effort to confront barriers that limit future aspirations, we provide free college preparatory enrichment and guidance for 7th through 12th-grade students in Detroit, Ypsilanti, and Southfield.

WOCAP

Women of Color in the Academy Project

The Women of Color in the Academy Project (WOCAP) is a campus-wide faculty network at U-M that supports scholarship focused on understanding the experiences of women of color in the academy and advocacy work to address the challenges and issues faced uniquely by women of color in the academy. To advance this scholarship and advocacy work, WOCAP provides professional development and a supportive and inclusive community that includes writing retreats, weekly writing sessions, bi-annual dinners, and other networking and professional development opportunities.

Gifts to this fund support Women of Color Task Force (WCTF), a U-M staff organization that provides professional development, networking, and training opportunities for employees, with a focus on addressing the needs of women of color staff. WCTF supports career development at U-M
