Tyne Lucas

Senior Program Manager

Tyne Lucas serves as Senior Program Manager with the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Implementation Team. Tyne provides programmatic support and coordination for the implementation of the University’s five-year diversity, equity and inclusion strategic plan. She is responsible for developing resources and programming to help DEI leads successfully implement DEI plans within their unit. She is also responsible for coordinating the annual U-M DEI Summit, which features national speakers and engages the campus community around DEI topics and issues. In addition, Tyne serves as a diversity, equity and inclusion co-lead for the Provost’s Office, where she works with her fellow leads to coordinate events and activities to address issues of diversity, equity and inclusion and increase staff awareness and aptitude.

Tyne joined the University in 2015 and brings to her role a wealth of experience working in the public sector. Prior to her role at U-M, Tyne served as a Service Center Coordinator for Washtenaw County, where she oversaw the delivery of workforce development services to unemployed workers.

Tyne grew up in Detroit and received her BS in communications from Eastern Michigan University. She is passionate about access to higher education for students from underserved communities and support for first-generation college students.
