Mike Morland leads the strategic planning and execution of communications and marketing activities for the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI) and provides executive communication support for the Vice Provost of Equity & Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer at the University of Michigan.
In addition to supporting all reporting units of the office, including the Center for Educational Outreachopens in a new window (CEO), Office of Academic Multicultural Initiativesopens in a new window (OAMI), and Wolverine Pathwaysopens in a new window, Mike also works closely on communication and marketing components as it relates to the strategic vision of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the University of Michigan.
With more than 15 years of experience in the non-profit, academic and corporate sectors, his expertise and experience includes journalism, marketing, advertising, public relations, project management, audio/video broadcasting and producing, web design and strategic management.
A University of Michigan alumnus, Mike received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications with concentrations in Print Journalism and Electronic Media.
In 2013, Mike was named Mentor of the Year by the University of Michigan-Dearborn for his work with the humanities internship program. Additionally, he was a team recipient of the Distinguished Diversity Leaders Award in 2013. In 2014, Mike was nominated for the Crain’s Detroit Business “Twenty in their 20s” award for his work at the U-M Detroit Center and entrepreneurship endeavors.
