About the Team

The Communications and Marketing Team at the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) is a dedicated group that supports ODEI units, teams and affiliates while also contributing to university-wide DEI initiatives at the University of Michigan. With a team of dynamic professionals bringing diverse perspectives, they provide comprehensive communications and marketing support designed to advance the broader goals of ODEI and the university.

  • Communications & Marketing Strategies: Our office employs comprehensive communications and marketing strategies to powerfully convey the mission and values of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Through targeted campaigns and strategic messaging, we aim to engage diverse audiences, foster a sense of belonging, and increase awareness of DEI initiatives across the University of Michigan.

 

  • Executive Communications: We communicate the leadership’s vision and commitment to diversity and inclusion with clarity and impact, creating speeches, statements and materials that authentically reflect our mission, values and strategic goals. These efforts empower university leaders to inspire, inform and guide the campus community in meaningful alignment with our DEI principles.

 

  • News Articles & Features: To keep our community informed and connected, we produce articles and features that highlight impactful events, achievements and stories related to diversity and inclusion at Michigan. These stories celebrate success, share meaningful insights, and promote dialogue within and beyond our academic community.

 

  • Photography/Videography: Visual storytelling is a powerful medium, and our skilled photography and videography team captures the essence of our initiatives. With compelling visuals, we showcase the diversity of experiences within our community, contributing to a vibrant tapestry of narratives that underscore our commitment to equity and inclusion.

 

  • Social Media: In the digital age, our social media presence is key to reaching and engaging a broad audience. We use social platforms strategically to share updates, facilitate conversations, and amplify the voices within our community. Social media serves as a dynamic space for dialogue, awareness-building and community engagement.

 

  • Website Design and Development: As the digital front door of our office, our websites are thoughtfully designed and continually refined to deliver an engaging, accessible user experience.
